Here are the TOEFL requirements for CalTech, updated October 31, 2015.
Undergraduate Students
- The minimum TOEFL score accepted is 110. This is not printed on the Undergraduate Admissions site, but was confirmed via e-mail from an associate director of admissions on October 30, 2015. Students may wish to confirm this themselves.
- A TOEFL score is not required if you have studied for the past two years at a high school where the primary language is English (source).
- CalTech does not accept IELTS for undergraduate students (source).
Graduate Students
- There is no required minimum TOEFL score (source).
- Students who have studied in the USA for two years or who have a degree from an English language university do not need to submit a TOEFL score (source).
- Graduate students may submit an IELTS or PTE score instead of the TOEFL (source).
