Hi M., I was wondering what do you think about the fact that many schools have decided to not accept the TOEFL Special Home Edition. In addition, many other schools have not decided yet about it, leaving many students worldwide struggling.

James

Unfortunately, I am sure. At least for the grad schools I am interested into. For instance, Harvard Kennedy Schools and Princeton WWS have not decided yet. I am wondering what are they waiting for.

James

What do you think it might be the reason behind it?

James

I agree, it does not make much sense since schools are expecting a 20% drop, at least. Even though, many schools may want to reduce the number of applicants since there won’t be enough spots, given that they are allowing many students matriculated for the 2020-21 to postpone the enrollment to next year.

James

Interesting, I did not know about that. What do you think? Do they really give you a lower score compared to the regular test?

James

What would you do if you were me?

  • Spend an extra $250 for travel expenses and take the test in another Region where there is availability for the regolar test.
  • Wait until the end of September and take the test in my city (by then I should be focusing on the GRE though);
  • Take the Home Special Edition.

P.S.
You do not have to use the multiple choice template 😉
